Our Favourite Glamping Stays with Things To Do
In the process of doing our research and reaching out to various Glamping destinations in many different countries we invariably come across ones that make us reach for our own ‘bookmark’ button. We therefore thought that as we’re heading into Spring of 2018 now would be a good time to share with you our favourite Glamping Stays with Things to Do!
Whether you’re dreaming of going on Safari in Africa, horse back riding in High Country Australia or enjoying a slap-up Welsh Breakfast with your canine companion (in a hot tub) in the UK we’ve got you covered!
Bluegrass Music in Georgia
If you are into Bluegrass music then Upcountry Camp in Athens, Georgia is THE Glamping experience for you. They have couple friendly, family friendly and ‘bring the whole crew’ friendly glamping options at the fantastic Wildwood Revival bluegrass festival that happens every August. They’ll get there ahead of you and pitch a fabulous glamped up bell tent (for between $300 and $450 for the weekend depending on the size of tent and how many of you are coming) and all you’ll need to bring is your festival ticket, some sunscreen and a positive attitude towards fiddly diddly guitar music. This is definitely one of our favourite Glamping stays with things to do!
Horse trekking in the Australian high country
If you’re into horse riding and camping there’s nothing more perfect sounding than Spring Spur Stay in the beautiful State of Victoria, Australia. They offer guided treks through the mountains with overnight camping – all set up with comfortable Ex-ped insulated mattresses – fire cooked meals and campfires. Then, once you’re back at the ranch (literally!) they will find you a place in one of their gorgeous Eco Buildings and provide shared table meals (with lots of items grown in the kitchen garden), hot showers in en suite bathrooms and gloriously comfortable beds.
Classic Safari / Birding Safari or Romance in the Tanzanian High Country
This is a high end tented camp allowing for a private safari experience near to the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. The Highlands Camp can be your base point for an African trip of a lifetime. Experienced guides will lead you to the summit of the Olmoti Crater on ancient Maasai trails or you can arrange for a traditional safari car allowing you to spot leopard, buffalos and elephants that all live near the camp.
This is the ultimate in comfort and privacy with domed canvas suites offering King Sized beds, floor to ceiling windows (with views to die for), en suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water plus wood burning stoves in case of chilly nights. Sign me up now!
Micro-Campers in California
Booking a trip with Happier Camper Rentals has to be the perfect way to explore the Golden State. Renting out of LA you can hook up the cutest vintage-style micro-camper you’ve ever seen and head off to explore. It’s a choose your own Californian adventure – will you while away a few days overlooking the ocean in Malibu, head inland to beautiful Yosemite or will you wind your way up Route 1 through Big Sur and onto the towering red woods? This is surely the kind of laid back, detoxed, #vanlife we’ve all been dreaming of. (We also featured another fabulous Glamping Trailer rental option in California in a previous All Glamping piece).
Dog friendly, wood fired ovens, hot tub under the stars and a full cooked Welsh breakfast
Woody’s Glamping in the foothills of beautiful Snowdonia in Wales offers what is possibly the perfect Glamping break for a British Glamping Staycation. With a super king size bespoke plank bed, a free stay for your pampered pooch and a whole host of other luxuries this is one of the best. They’ll arrange a cooked meal for you on arrival, accept delivery of your supermarket groceries and they can supply you with ‘pizza packs’ to make it easier to get involved with that wood fired oven we mentioned. Oh, and did we mention there’s a hot tub under the stars for you to lie back with your chosen companion (canine or otherwise) and reflect on your day?
